It matters not whether you’re shopping for a BMW sedan like a 2017 BMW 330i or an SAV such as a BMW X5 near Jackson, LA: every BMW vehicle possesses a technological sophistication that exceeds most other vehicles on the road, luxury or otherwise. Here’s one way to measure the BMW Group’s dedication to cutting-edge automotive technology: the company was present at CES 2017 and Mobile World Congress 2017, two of the world’s largest tech tradeshows. How many other car companies can make that claim?
At CES, a big topic of discussion was autonomous driving. The BMW Group featured a BMW 5 Series prototype that showcased a number of autonomous innovations, including the ability for a driver to take his hands off the steering wheel for an extended period, allowing the BMW brand’s super-advanced and continuously refined driver assistance programs to guide the vehicle. Moreover, the vehicle will handle all braking and acceleration needs too.
Another game-changing BMW technology showcased at CES: Remote 3D View. Born from a combination of the BMW Connected smartphone connectivity platform and the BMW Surround View camera system, Remote 3D will allow a BMW owner to monitor his parked vehicle in real-time, benefiting from a 3D view of the vehicle + surroundings displayed on the owner’s smartphone.
Hixson BMW of Monroe, one of the highest-rated car dealerships serving Monroe, LA, was also excited to hear about the BMW brand’s presence at Mobile World Congress. In fact, here’s an interesting nugget of information coming out of the show: did you know that BMW owners who own Amazon’s Alexa A.I. can use Alexa for a variety of car-related needs? For example, with Alexa you can turn on your vehicle’s heat or AC from your home, inquire about fuel level, and lock or unlock the vehicle.
